WAREHOUSE DISTRICT. Exquisite creations, inspired by the regional cuisine, take front and center at this versatile dining room, located in the Riverfront Hotel. Among the kitchen's specialties is lobster bisque with tortellini and lemon confit; there's also seared scallops with smoked tomatoes and almonds with sauce hollandaise. After the meal, diners may indulge in a dessert cocktail, such as the espresso crème brulee tini, flavored with Absolut vanilla and butterscotch schnapps.

FRENCH QUARTER. A tourist favorite ­ the Oyster is KING here! Also serves sandwiches and turkey, but the oyster rules!

UPTOWN. Situated on Magazine Street, this diminutive bistro entertains the uppercrust and manages to escape the notice of most casual passers-by. Impeccable décor and a lovely view of the neighborhood contribute to the restaurant's delightful atmosphere, and Alberta's true asset, its innovative, "to-die-for" cuisine never fails to draw a full house.

FRENCH QUARTER. Classic French Creole cuisine is what sets Antoine's apart. The restaurant has been in business since the mid-1800s and the recipes may seem basic, but each entree's flavor is uniquely delectable. Diners can enjoy choices like potato soufflé or Poulet Rochambeau, a boneless half-chicken served with a sweet brown rochambeau and tangy béarnaise sauce. The decor is spaciously elegant and, even though Antoine's still prints its menu in French, the staff is more than eager to help.
